 | | Comment # 2 of 12 | | By justinwafu on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 | | Pros: | What I like about this software is that it detects a very high rate of spyware. The new version has a better look.
| | Cons: | Comparing this version than the older version, I think that the older version is much better. This version has a lot of bugs. It even terminates itself during the scanning process. As of now, I still recommend using the older version. |

 | | Comment # 3 of 12 | | By Danni Sarena on Monday, August 13, 2007 | | Pros: | It is FREE! Adware scans the computer for nasty spyware and adware. It does a great job. I like the fact that I can set it to run automatically when I am at work by using Windows Task Scheduler. I always run Adaware after the kids have been on the computer and it always finds somthing nasty that they have unknowingly downloaded.
| | Cons: | The scan takes soooo long to complete (I have 3 rather large external hard drives to scan in addition to the computer), but I set it to run automatically when I am at work, so it is not a real problem. Also, it occaisionally comes up with error messages and the program closes down without completing the scan. Affter searching the forums on the Lavasoft webpage, the Lavasoft computer geeks are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. |

 | | Comment # 4 of 12 | | By Mashed_Potatoes on Monday, August 13, 2007 | | Pros: | Attractive, ease of use, works, Free!
| | Cons: | 2007 edition is very sluggish. I noticed this version runs 4 xs slower than the SE edition Ive been using until now. |

 | | Comment # 5 of 12 | | By oldwolfak on Friday, August 10, 2007 | | Pros: | Been trying to download the new version for a while since the old version worked so well, but every time I try it either ends up not opening correctly or most recently this morning I found a Trojan virus embedded.
| | Cons: | Allow us to download the old version, if it works dont fix it. |

 | | Comment # 6 of 12 | | By im.spartacas on Wednesday, August 08, 2007 | | Pros: | for me about 22 gig files etc lighting fast scan time ,same great GUI ,does a good job finding/deleting baddies and updates ok
| | Cons: | if you only want the on demand scanner you have to download nearly 18 mbmost of it is for the plus and pro vers, witch they want you to buy.many people just want the free on demand scanner if this is the case i suggest you stick with the old SE version |

 | | Comment # 7 of 12 | | By Anonymous on Monday, August 06, 2007 | | Pros: | What can you say, when on an XP-Home computer Ad-Aware wont update and on an XP-Media Edition everything works as it should? Does that make it half-good software? (Yes, I downloaded four different times.)
| | Cons: | Release no new versions before their time, please! |

 | | Comment # 8 of 12 | | By dark_legion_of_doom on Monday, August 06, 2007 | | Pros: | Come on people. Do you really care about an app that detects cookies as high risk? Anyone with a lick of knowledge in computer safety knows cookies are no threat at all. Do you really want ad watch in a free ware app? I dont. Do you want a slow, heavy anti spyware app? I dont. And even with this latest release Lavasoft still hasnt addressed Vistaand dont give me that they will release a vista version later this year because thats way to late. Vista is all I run now so I dont care one bit for a backwards security app. I am a firm believer in quality when it comes to the security of my computers. Luckily, I dont have to depend on free security software, especially poor ones at that. If you need free, get Spyware Terminator and a-squared free. Both far outshine this app and Terminator provides solid active protection. I dont use this app and will not recommend it under any circumstances. The download.com editor is human. Anyone can make a mistake and he or she did with their review of AdAware 2007.
| | Cons: | Use this at your own risk and when you get an infection Ajax wont wash off, well, I told you so. LOL! |

 | | Comment # 9 of 12 | | By Tarq57 on Friday, August 03, 2007 | | Pros: | Glitzy GUI for the eye candy lovers
| | Cons: | The background service used 20 megs, even when the program wasnt running. Had numerous small problems with updating and false positives, but mainly, the forum help was non-existent. I couldnt even register, an email sent to the contact us address link bounced back as undeliverable.Permanently uninstalled. There are at least 5 better free options. |

 | | Comment # 10 of 12 | | By steven13500 on Friday, August 03, 2007 | | Pros: | It is still free, and gets the job done
| | Cons: | Didnt ask to download new definitions file. Started a background service even though it does not offer realtime protection (needless to say it disabled the service). New interface is kinda gimicky |
|
 | | Comment # 11 of 12 | | By 1consultant1 on Wednesday, August 01, 2007 | | Pros: | Removes ad-ware and persistent cookies.
| | Cons: | Must be CONSTANTLY run manually because realtime protection is off in free version. |

 | | Comment # 12 of 12 | | By Chainmail2006 on Sunday, July 08, 2007 | | Pros: | Its slow, heavy and still has errors and crashes. Ad watch remains a part of the install even though its not available in the free version. After all this time theres still no vista support and because thats all I use now, I have no use for this product. Id like to show other users an article posted sometime ago, yet hasnt changed very much since its posting. This is not software I can recommend and trust me, my computers stay exceptionally clean of all types of just take a little time and read this article. I found it very interesting, to say the least.
| | Cons: | No comment. See pros. |
